WHO IS NIRANKARI RAJMATA JI?

Nirankari Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji was born in Kaimalpur (Now in Pakistan) on January 1st, 1931 in the family of Smt. Somwanti Ji and Shri Manna Singh Ji.

She was brought up in Quetta (now in Pakistan). As her father had his business there. She was mother of his Holiness Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj.

Nirankari Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji has been unique in discharging her duty to mankind during the glorious life she lived. She lived an illustrious and simple life. She reached out to the hearts of global community be it a child, youth or elderly and earned admiration as a result.

She was filled with love and compassion. She was a pure soul. She has changed life of many people and being the example of light house for them.

When she was a small child, she loved to visit Gurudwara and listen to Gurbani.

Since childhood, Rajmata Ji had an avid interest in matters of spirituality and was fortunate enough to have the darshan of Baba Buta Singh Ji Maharaj.

At the age of 8 years, she received God Knowledge (Bhram Gyan) from Baba Avtar Singh Ji Maharaj.

Her faith, devotion and conviction upon Formless God (Nirankar) pleased Shenshah Ji with the result that she was blessed to become the wife of his son Gurbachan Singh Ji.

On 22 April 1947, she was married to Gurbachan Singh Ji (Son of Shenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji Maharaj).

She served Baba Avtar Singh Ji more as her spiritual master (Satguru), rather than as her father-in-law with full spirit of faith and devotion. She obeyed each and every word of Shenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji so much so that she became an example for other devotees.

Despite this distinctive honour she continued to live an exemplary life as a disciple.  In 1963 Gurbachan Singh Ji was entrusted with the duty of carrying forward the mantle of the Sant Nirankari Mission.  Shenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji noticed her dedication and sense of duty towards humanity, elevated Kulwant Kaur Ji to sit upon the same stage as the Satguru and pronounced her henceforth she be known as “Nirankari Rajmata Ji”.

In 1962, Shehanshan Baba Avtar Singh Ji passed on the spiritual mentorship of Sant Nirankari Mission to Baba Gurubachan Singh Ji. Since then, Raj Mataji started sharing the dais with Baba Gurubachan Singh Ji and participated in mission’s activities all the more whole heartedly.

She shouldered her household responsibilities with him such that they never came in the way of her assisting Baba Gurubachan Singh Ji in promoting the spiritual message of the Mission. Here too she treated Baba Gurubachan Singh Ji first as her Satguru and then as her spouse.

In April 1980, Baba Gurubachan Singh Ji fell to the bullets of some anti-social orthodox elements and Baba Hardev Singh Ji took over the spiritual command of the Mission. Her Holiness bowed at his feet as a humble devotee although his mother in worldly relation. She showed the same faith and devotion towards Babaji till her last breath.

At home she was a loving, responsible and dutiful mother towards her son Baba Hardev Singh Ji and daughters Niranjan Ji, Jagjit Ji, Mohini Ji and Bindiya Ji. She assimilated in them the values of truth, love tolerance, humility and contentment. She always encouraged them to trust God and have faith in Satguru. She inspired her children towards seeking company of saints (Satsang), God-remembrance (Simran) and selfless service (Sewa).

She was always a guiding star for women seeking solutions for household problems. She counseled every women devotee with love and harmony. Raj Mata Ji travelled to far off places in India and abroad to salvage souls living in ignorance. She taught us to be humble and to respect and honor the saints.

She gave lot of love and affection not only to her children but to all devotees of the mission. She led a pious and pure life devoid of all prejudices which won the hearts of all the devotees and due to which the devotees called her Nirankari Raj Mata Ji.

Nirankari Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji merged into Formless God on 29 August 2014.

Her Long life journey of 84 years had been a source of inspiration for all humanity in every walk of life. She encouraged thousands of children to adopt values, showed the youth community the right direction in life, encouraged people to lead ideal family life, women to be self-reliant and elderly to be tolerant and benevolent.

She used to say, “Firstly, improve yourself, take your family and children along both socially and spiritually.  If our acts get improved, the society will automatically improve.”

For the welfare of every section of society, particularly for the prosperity of the sewadars, she participated in each of their family events like marriage, birthday, house-warming, etc. and helped them to every extent possible.

For needy families, she would take upon herself the responsibility of arranging marriages of their children. She solved many problems of saints, and prayed for their happiness and always forgave mistakes of sewadars, while at the same time cautioning them not to repeat the same.
